Kevin S. Scher, MD

Kevin S. Scher is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Princeton University. He received his medical school training at the NYU School of Medicine. He completed his internship and medical residency at UCLA. Dr. Scher trained in medical oncology and hematology at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Scher was previously an active researcher at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, UCLA and City of Hope. He has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals, including several in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Scher’s research has focused on the delivery of oncologic care and treatment of breast and lung malignancies. He is currently an active research member of the Urologic Oncology Program at the Cedars Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Institute. In addition to solid malignancies, Dr. Scher has a clinical interest in the treatment of benign and malignant hematologic disorders.

Prior to his career in medicine, Dr. Scher worked in the fields of investment banking and venture capital. He received his MBA from Columbia University. He served as a public health consultant at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Scher is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Scher and his wife Lauren, an attorney, have two children and live in the community. His interests outside of medicine include movies, good restaurants and taking care of his young children.
